Our Atelier is located in the plush green area of Lucknow on the periphery of Kukrail Forest Reserve. It is here that all the magic happens. The Craft Dera is built in exposed brick and concrete textures with ample spaces to grow plants in the premises. For every artisan, tailor, finisher this is the pillar of our Brand philosphy.

The Sangraha Atelier building

Plus, here is something you would want to know. Sangraha word is derived from dual relevance, one to 'Sangrahalaya' or a museum that is a place to preserves and second meaning a Group. We believe in caring and building collaborative relationships based on trust and mutual respect.

OUR INSPIRATIONS

Moolasthana, land between Hakra, Satluj and Sindhu is the place of genesis of Vedas as Aryans settled here. The legacy of this land goes back to almost 5000 years . This collection is grounded in life and culture of the undivided south Punjab and has tranquillity of its Sufi mystics in every stitch.

"India has been a land of illustrations and written proses since immemorial times. Illustrated palm leaf manuscripts were a medium of expression which continued in painted art of Buddhist caves, Pichwais and numerous other illustrated artforms. Illustrations could be tangible to depict stories as in Kavar or intangible illustrations as in Dastangoi. 'Gadh' is an ode to this art of creating an imagery in heart and soul of the spectator to become part of the narrative. Each ensemble tributes to a poet, composer or a storyteller and attempts to capture the essence of prose onto the product through flora and fauna inspired from Ajanta and Pichwai.

'Minukku' delves into layers of this form and interprets its abhivesha into contemporary products in chikankari. It looks into colors, detailing, elements in costume as a muse to astonish and create. Each stroke and form has individuality and purpose as in Kathakali and adapts the techniques of impressionist artist to find new meanings.

Japan has a rich tradition of food carving called mukimono. If you’ve ever eaten at a fancy restaurant in Japan you might have found a carrot carved into a bunny, garnishing your plate. But in the hands of Japanese artist Gaku, the art of fruit and vegetable carving is elevated to a new realm of edible creations. This collection is inspired from this technique and incorporates it into garments. An interpretation of fusion among manmade and organic forms.
